to Yeast Infection Info
Both men and women have a small number of minute organisms, called
candida fungus on their body. Many times their number grows,
particularly at underarms, nails, mouth , ganitals and between toes.
This produces irritation and uncomfort. This is known as yeast
infection. Any part of the body can be infected by yeast.
Yeast infection may be caused due to poor hygiene, low body immune
power, diabetes, pregnancy, poor nutrition, and due to antibiotics and
birth control pills. The acidity in the vagina prevents yeast from
growing too much there. But if the acidity of the vagina decreases,
then yeast growth may be too much causing vaginal infection.
Avoiding Yeast Infection
If you follow simple hygiene, then you can avoid yeast infection. it
is better to avoid it rather than having it and then use treatment.
Following are the tips to avoid the yeast infection:

Do not keep your vagina wet for a long time.
Do not douche vagina with vinegar after menstrual periods or sexual
intercourse as it may remove the healthy bacteria in the vagina. Seek
the advice of your doctor.
Yeast can live in your underwear (particularly non-cotton panties), so
you should wash it well, definitely during and after a yeast
infection. You should wear a skirt with no underwear (or wear
unbleached, un-dyed cotton underwear) and no pantyhose. You should not
wear synthetic-fiber underwear.
You should improve your immune system. People who have week immune
system, are prone to vaginal yeast infections, thrush or yeast
infection of the throat.
The use of antibiotics may be the cause of vaginal yeast infections.
The antibiotics kill the unwanted bacteria of disease, but can also
kill the good bacteria in your vagina, allowing the yeast to develop.

Yeast Infection Treatment
The yeast infection should be treated as soon as it is detected. It
can enter into the blood stream leading to health problems. The best
thing is to avoid yeast infection as mentioned above. Before you start
any treatment, you should consult a doctor to know that the problem is
not due to other resons. The symptoms of vaginal yeast infection such
as itching, swelling or burning around the vulva and in the vagina,
and a thick white vaginal discharge may be due to HIV & STDs
infections.
Some of the possible treatments of the yeast infection are given
below:
