See Roy in his test run in May – at the first Obama campaign trip to Michigan after the ban was lifted co-organized by MDF and the Young Democrats

Michigan Precinct Delegate, Teamster Member to Address Convention on Historic Night

As part of Senator Barack Obama's "real people" campaign, Senator Obama has invited Teamster member and Taylor precinct delegate Roy Gross to address over 75,000 Democrats at Invesco Field in Denver the night Obama accepts the nomination.

Back in May, at a town hall meeting co-organized by Michigan Democratic Future in Macomb County Roy Gross was called on to introduce Senator Obama.  He did a great job articulating the challenges working people face.    He spoke about the toll of the auto industry downturn on Michigan workers.    Roy spoke from the heart and made an impression on Senator Obama.  Senator Obama remembered Roy and has invited him to deliver our union and Michigan Democratic Party message to the world.

We all remember presidential candidates who were afraid to say union.  We now have a candidate who wants to share his historic night with a truck driver from Michigan.

This is truly a great honor for Brother Gross, his local union, the Michigan Democratic Party and union members across America.

Michigan's issues will be at center stage.    Michigan Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow is scheduled to speak on Tuesday.

Our Brother Roy Gross, volunteer activist from Teamsters 299,  will be speaking on Thursday, August 28th in Denver.    Please alert your friends and family about this historic night as we kick up our voter registration and mobilization efforts here in Michigan.
