II. In the News: Auto
workers left with no bailout
by John Wojcik
President Barack Obama said March 30 that the government
will withhold additional long-term federal loans for General Moters and
Chrysler unless the company, its creditors and the unions make more
concessions. He also raised the possibility of "controlled bankruptcy"
for one or both of the companies.

World Website.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What action do you think the government should take
in regards to the auto industry? Should they let them fail?
Nationalize? Give them billions in more bailouts with commitments for
viability?
2. Should the UAW make any more concessions? If so, what
do you think they should be? If not, how can the union work to help
make the company viable?
III. March for Peace and
Economic Justice with the YCL on April 4th
"A nation that continues year after year
to spend more money on military defense than on programs for social
uplift is approaching spiritual death." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
April 4th, 1967
This Saturday United for Peace and Justice (UfPJ) is
honoring the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a "Beyond War: A New Economy is
Possible" march on Wall Street in NYC. It was on this day 42 years
ago that Dr. King gave his famous Beyond Vietnam speech connecting the
domestic crisis with militarism and the funding for the war in Vietnam.
Today, we need to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and cut the
military budget to provide the necessary resources to help working
people during this economic crisis and beyond.
The YCL and CPUSA will be meeting up at the corner of
Franklin and Broadway at 11AM on Saturday April 4th. If you want more
info, call Adam at 646-437-5350.
IV. Out of the Crisis:
Building a new era of justice and peace
Watch Sam Webb, the chairman of the Communist Party USA,

peace and justice. You can watch the speech and read the full text of
his speech at the CPUSA website.
V. SLAP Event in Orlando,
FL
"It was awesome!" says Josh Leclair, an Orlando YCL
leader. Our YCL club is very involved with Jobs with Justice of
Florida. Together we organized a massive pro-Employee Free Choice Act
(EFCA) rally (which was sponsored and helped by the University of
Central Florida Executive Develop Center) at a union busting law firm
that was holding a daylong anti-EFCA seminar.
Besides having on our union people infilitrate the
seminar we also organized a paparazzi like like rally which was held at
the end of the seminar as the attendees were leaving. We took their
pictures, asked their names, and asked sarcastic questions like "Did
you learn how to protect workers rights today?" When they tried to go
out the back door we just moved the rally to the back.
"What's disgusting?"
"Union busting!"
Our event was organized and attended by union and
community members, students, and everyon was having a lot of fun. Wanna
