I. In The News: A Living
Wage as Economic Stimulus
by Joel Wendland
"To the little fanfare, the federal minimum wage rose to
$7.25 per hour July 24th. It was the third scheduled raise in minimum
wage since 2007. A higher minimum wage is the best kind of economic
stimulus for working families, say workers' rights advocates and even
some business owners. But, they add, as it stands it has a long way to
go to be high enough for working families to live on."

Affairs site.
Discussion Questions:
1. Did you or anyone you know get a raise from the
latest hike in the minimum wage?
2. Do you think the hiking in the minimum wage was high
enough? What would be a liveabel wage where you live?
3. How far do you think raising the minimum wage and
passing EFCA would go to help restart our economy?
4. Are there other measures that need to be taken to
help stimulate the economy and creates more jobs?
II. Mass Action: National
