Dear all,

The Youth Coalition on Internet Governance (YCIG) and the Internet Society Youth Standing Group (Youth SG) cordially invite you to the Introductory Call for the Global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2023, to be held in Kyoto, Japan in October.

The Introductory Call aims to provide an overview of the IGF and its processes, as well as to inform participants about the youth-led Open Call for Session Proposals. This is an opportunity for young professionals from different regions to propose sessions on topics of interest and relevance to their organizations or communities, from a youth perspective.

Although sessions are proposed by young professionals, the IGF recognizes the value of having diverse perspectives and expertise on internet-related issues. Therefore, while the focus is on youth and internet-related issues, sessions may include participation from high-level speakers, experts, or specialists who are not necessarily young, but who can contribute to meaningful discussions on topics of interest and relevance to young people. The objective is to address internet governance issues and concerns for the benefit of youth users.

In previous years, the Open Call for Session Proposals has been successful, enabling more young voices to be heard in the mainstream IGF sessions. Therefore, we encourage you to join us and learn more about how to participate in IGF 2023 in a meaningful way according to your interests.

The Introductory Call will take place on Saturday 1st April at 11:00 UTC, and we have included the Zoom link below where you can register and participate. We also encourage you to share this invitation with other young professionals and youth organisations who may be interested in joining us at the IGF.

During the call, you will have the opportunity to meet other young professionals interested in internet governance, learn and form working groups to plan different sessions proposed for the IGF 2023, and get information about fellowships and opportunities available to participate in IGF 2023 in a meaningful way.
