Hello Everybody,

It is time for youth coalition members to meet and coordinate their actions at IGF.
I secured a meeting slot for the dynamic coalition meeting and it will be held in conference room 7, Day4 13:00 to 16:00  . The agenda can be changed by the members present there and adapt it. I advise to focus on:
- drafting statement for stock taking main session ( we did that the two last editions), so think wisely about the message you want to carry and representing the diversity of youth. we should start soon to draft since the taking stock session is before the DC meeting.
- discussing about planning for next year action plan/strategy. that is something urgent and important to make the coalition more effective while keeping its flexibility and avoid over-formalization. (don't forget the dynamic in dynamic coalition) and dont forget about follow-up.
- outreach: the DC meeting attract many new members and it is good for those how joined YCIG recently to discuss, network and create synergy and also to get more active.
- New blood and leadership: believing in change, I do think with others that a coalition for youth should be able to have new leadership and have new active people who will bring new ideas and push for another level of engagement and effectiveness.

Regarding workshops at IGF:
-please share info (date, time, meeting room etc) about workshops that you are organising and invite members to attend (if you are organising parties/events I think people will be happy to join too :))
- please share your thought and opinions about workshops that you attend, hopefully not just those related to youth issues, bring the voice of youth everywhere.

I think that some young people are coming part of delegation(childnet, nordic delegation, netmission etc), good chance to talk with them and let them join.

Have safe travel!

Best Regards,

Rafik

ps please use this list as much as you can, you will have man things to do the coming week. good luck!

I have prepared two workshops:
http://wsms1.intgovforum.org/content/no187-society-and-after-internet-and-digital-media
Tuesday at 16.30 and I'd still LOVE to have someone under 20 there. Volunteers?

http://wsms1.intgovforum.org/content/no188-growing-and-living-society-censorship-%E2%80%93-challenges-and-lessons
Thursday at 11.00. This one is getting a pretty much total participant
revamp due to sick cases and other reasons.

Also, I lost both of my remote moderators since earlier talks, so...
anyone volunteering? :D

I also spotted Nordic Youth Delegation. I'll try to network with them. :)

Dear Rafik and all,
I have met some of the NetMission fellows in IGF and they have invited us to talk about the dynamic coalition at their workshop 119, tomorrow at room 1, from 14h30-16h00. One of the points they would like to hear are the objectives of the coalition and achievements, so they could understand from where they start. Any particular ideas? Can anyone join (remotely or physically?)
I have invited them to YCIG meeting on Friday to consider refreshing leadership as we were talking about.
Hope we can also have other ChildNet and ISOC ambassadors in the meeting, let`s keep working on it.

Hi Raquel,

Glad to hear about this, since I suggested to some netmission folks to contact other YCIG members present at IGF . for the workshop, I hoped that the invitation came more earlier since YCIG is avocal actor about youth participation in IGF since Sharm elCheikh, anyway please figure out how to participate in meaningful way in the workshop , I will try to attend remotely .

for objectives, we have our current charter which may be updated if needed.

btw not sure about  the meaning of "could understand from where they start". I do think that the all coalition members should discuss about the future the youth coalition  and decide about next steps and it is more easy to do that in baku.

it will be great to have kind of report or new mission at the end of coalition meeting and setting actions plan to follow-up. for leadership, I will  help by advice and for transition as much  as I can and indeed new interim leadership is needed

for invitation, it is more easy to do it in situ :)

please try to convene before to issue a statement on behalf of YCIG for taking stock main session.

Best,

Rafik

Let's see how that taking stock statement goes this time. In Nairobi
they had changed the plans for the taking stock session and only
allowed short messages and replies. I was interrupted when giving our
last statement and could not finish it.

We'll have to see how it is this time and I still volunteer to speak
it, but in general I think there is less to say now than last two
years.

Hi,

Maybe a short version making clear points and taking strong positions is enough, a punchy message.
For speaker, maybe it is good to have more volunteers.

A bit of a hassle since the taking stock session is before YCIG
session. I'll try to gather now everything youth-related that has
happened here.

(Oh, and a BIG THANK YOU, Rafik for reserving that session!)
