Opportunities and Fellowships


Call for Travel Support - IGF 2022

The mandate of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) calls for strengthening and enhancing stakeholder engagement in developing countries. It also calls for the Forum to contribute to building capacity for Internet governance in developing countries, drawing fully on local sources of knowledge and expertise.


For these reasons, a limited number of eligible candidates from developing countries will be supported to participate at the 17th annual meeting of the IGF from 28 November until 2 December 2022 in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Please refer to the above link to read the full description of the call and if you are eligible we strongly encourage that you apply. 

Eligible candidates can submit the travel request through the travel support application e-form by 31 August 2022, 23:59 UTC.

IGF MAG 2023 Renewal Announcement

On behalf of the United Nations Secretary-General, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) requests nominations from all stakeholder and regional groups to renew the IGF 2023 Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG).

ICANN76 FELLOWSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!


The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is opening the application round for the ICANN Fellowship Program for the ICANN76 Community Forum which will take place in Cancún, Mexico from 11–16 March 2023. The application deadline is 19 August 2022, 23:59 UTC. If ICANN76 is held virtually

The Fellowship Program seeks individuals who are interested or already engaged in the various aspects of ICANN's work, such as policy building, the operation of the Domain Name System, and the security and stability of the global Internet. The goal of the ICANN Fellowship Program is to strengthen the diversity of the multistakeholder model by creating opportunities for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities to become active participants in the ICANN community.

APC women's rights advocacy coordinator vacancy

The Association for Progressive Communications Women's Rights Programme (APC WRP) is looking for a Women’s Rights Policy Advocacy Coordinator to join our virtual office and team.

The Women's Rights Policy Advocacy Coordinator will join the women’s rights policy strategy team and contribute towards ensuring that national, regional, and global policy discussions and processes related to digital rights integrate the perspectives of women and people of diverse genders and sexualities. The successful candidate will also work closely with APC’s global policy advocacy team by contributing to framing broader APC policy strategies.

African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2022


The African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2022 will take place from 23 – 25 August at Kigali Marriott Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda.

This event will be held as a hybrid event, with participants present in Rwanda, and others online and will focus on Internet interconnection dynamics, content distribution, and transit obstacles at local and regional levels.

AfPIF aims to promote the development of national and cross-border interconnection and offers the African technical community a unique opportunity to showcase interconnection challenges and opportunities.

LACNIC 38 - LACNOG 2022 - Registration is Open!

The event will take place simultaneously with the annual meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Network Operators Forum (LACNOG) in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from 3rd to 7th October.

The event will be hosted by ISOC Bolivia Chapter and will take place at the El Conquistador Convention Center, at the Los Tajibos hotel.

On the occasion of LACNIC’s 20th anniversary, we will also carry out special activities together with relevant actors from our community. The LACTLD Technical and Commercial Workshop will also be held, a non-profit association that brings together Latin American ccTLD administrators.

ISOC Community Week 2022 - Internet heroes from around the world unite!

We’re excited to share that Community Week 2022 will take place on 6-7 September. It will bring together an entire community of Internet heroes worldwide. Internet Society members, individuals, organizations, chapters, special interest groups, and standing groups will celebrate our collective work to build and protect the Internet.

2022 also marks the Internet Society’s 30th anniversary, an occasion to consider how we can ensure our great work continues and that the Internet is even more reliable, more resilient, and reaches more places 30 years from now.

Community Week will take place at different times each day to cover different time zones:

6 September 2022: 12:00 to 17:00 UTC
7 September 2022: 18:00 to 23:00 UTC

APNIC, APSIG & APrIGF - Registration still open

Registration is still open for APNIC 54, APrIGF 2022, and APSIG 2022 to be held from 8 to 15 September at the Grand Hyatt in Singapore. The event is being held in both a face-to-face and online format. This is the first time in two years that APNIC is holding a face-to-face event, and is very pleased to hold it jointly with both APrIGF and APSIG. This is a great opportunity to participate in not just one, but three conferences in one location, and access technical and Internet governance content. The draft program is available, but stay tuned to the conference website for updates.

INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM 2022 YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TRACK

The third capacity development workshop will be hosted at the Asia-Pacific Youth IGF at APrIGF next 11th September in Singapore. The topic is Digital transformation and policy challenges
