INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM 2022 YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TRACK

The third capacity development workshop at APrIGF was a success! The fourth workshop will be hosted in the context of the YouthLACIGF (youthlacigf.org) on the 24th of October virtually. The topic is Digital transformation and opportunities ‎backed with good digital policy. The outcomes of these workshops will feed the IGF 2022 Global Youth Summit which will be hosted at the 17th IGF in Addis Ababa on 28 November 2022.

Town Hall Meeting of IGF Stakeholders with the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology

Under-Secretary-General Amandeep Singh Gill, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, is pleased to meet with Internet Governance Forum (IGF) stakeholders, including to hear their views as contributions to the forthcoming Global Digital Compact.

LACIGF 15

The 15th edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Governance Forum (LACIGF15) will be held from October 24th to 26th, 2022. The event, which serves as preparation for the Global Internet Governance Forum (IGF), this year will have an online format.

The LACIGF15 agenda will be built around the themes identified by the United Nations Secretary-General in the Global Digital Compact. More information can be found here: (https://lacigf.org/en/lacigf-15/


LACNIC 38 - LACNOG 2022 - Registration still Open!

The event will take place simultaneously with the annual meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Network Operators Forum (LACNOG) in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from 3rd to 7th October.

The event will be hosted by ISOC Bolivia Chapter, and will take place at the El Conquistador Convention Center, at the Los Tajibos hotel.

On the occasion of LACNIC’s 20th anniversary, they will also carry out special activities together with relevant actors from our community. The LACTLD Technical and Commercial Workshop will also be held, a non-profit association that brings together Latin American ccTLD administrators.

Opportunities and fellowships:


EuroDIG and Global Digital Compact

EuroDIG has set up an open stakeholder consultation to prepare a submission to the UN's #GlobalDigitalCompact. Written inputs can be submitted until October 7.

DIG Watch Opportunity: Become a Knowledge Fellow

DiploFoundation is pleased to announce the new call for the Digital Watch Knowledge Fellow (DW Knowledge Fellow). If you are keen on digital topics because of a personal interest, academic studies or policy research, join a vibrant international team of knowledge fellows. Follow an issue of your interest (e-waste, blockchain, online education, cybersecurity and health, and many others) within digital policy and internet governance framework. Submit your expression of interest here no later than 15 September 2022. Selected applicants will be contacted by a staff member on a rolling basis.
