Dear YCIG members,

We are excited to announce the launch of the II second edition of Youth Atlas project “Quo vadis, youth?”, a unique initiative aimed at empowering young people by collecting their opinions, concerns, and aspirations in the Internet Governance space.

What the Youth Atlas is about?

The Youth Atlas project creates a space where young people from all over the world can share their experiences and perspectives on their participation and impact in the Internet Governance space. Through the collection of stories, interviews, and images, the Youth Atlas creates a comprehensive picture of the challenges and opportunities that young people face today.

The Youth Atlas project is designed to be a collaborative effort, with young people at the center of the process, to provide a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders who are working to create a better future for young people.

What is new in this Second Edition?

After the experience of the first edition of Youth Atlas in 2019 (you can find the book here), where it was mapped the participation of young people who have taken their first steps in Internet governance worldwide, the Internet Society Youth Standing Group wishes to understand what is the legacy being left by these first cohorts of young people, who are now young professionals, and in which direction the new entrants are moving, what keeps attracting youngsters into the IG.

The Youth Atlas 2022 will be divided into two sections.

The first section will be dedicated to newcomers who have recently entered the Internet Governance space, while the second section will focus on the stories of experienced young professionals who have made significant contributions to the field.

Do you wish to be featured in the book with your story?

We invite all of you to share your thoughts and experiences through this form by 19 March 2023 (23.59 GMT): https://forms.gle/zwkTy1b1MZ1e8zBp8. The resulting information will be compiled into a Book. The hard copies will eventually be distributed during the IGF 2023 in Kyoto, while the virtual copy will be available in open source on our website.

Thank you for your participation in the Youth Atlas project. We look forward to hearing your stories and perspectives.

Best regards,

The Internet Society Youth Standing Group
