WORKSHOP/FORUMS: All workshop and forum proposals for the NIEA 38th Annual Convention are due tomorrow, Friday, August 24, 2007. Send your workshop and forum proposals soon!

AWARD NOMINEES: All award nominees must be postmarked by August 27, 2007. NIEA will honor five (5) American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian (AI/AN/NH) General Voting Members for their accomplishments and efforts to improve the quality of life for AI/AN/NH communities through education. The award categories are Teacher of the Year; Educator of the Year; Elder of the Year; Parent of the Year; and Community Service Award. Please submit your award nomination application forms and supporting documents to: NIEA, 110 Maryland Avenue, N.E., Suite 104, Washington, DC 20002.

The 2nd Annual NIEA Native Oratory Contest will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Honolulu Convention Center. The contest is open to Registered NIEA High School & Postsecondary students. The theme is "Return to Cultural Honor and Caring."
