Christmas is both a difficult and fulfilling time for  YAV, as they spend what is often the first Christmas or Christmas season away from their families, but they are also able to start new traditions with their YAV community—host family, other YAVs and new co-workers. These two blogs from Jennifer in Hollywood and Julianne in Guatemala are great illustrations of the mixed emotions that come with the holiday season.

Enjoy—and happy 2012!
