There is a feature request [1] to do something like re-install all
currently installed packages (exactly in the version numbers and
repositories they are currently installed from). I think it might be
useful to have this as an explicit right-click option in the
package-view. This would be necessary in the case of botched installs,
etc. It seems the qt version does this already, but in a somewhat
roundabout way.

Bye

Hi Atri,

So, I have added a "Re-install" menu option when you have selected
several packages that can be re-installed.

You should be able to go to the "Installed" filter, then choose "Select
All" from the context menu, and then choose "Re-install".

By the way, Atri, do you think you could do a obs submission for SLED?
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=704102

As commented there, we want to build and package the 11.4 branch for
SLED 11 SP2, because they were using the Factory version which had some
glitch. The 11.4 branch is available at:
http://svn.opensuse.org/svn/yast/branches/SuSE-Linux-11_4-Branch/

Thanks,
Ricardo

That seems great, I will try it out and let you know how it feels. I
was just wondering though, if it would not be better to simply have a
menu item (from the menubar at the top) that says: "Re-install all
installed packages". I am not sure which of the two approaches would
feel more natural, though. Anyway, more after I actually have some
tryouts.

Sure, I think I should be able to do that, but I have never done a
submission for SLED before. I will look at it over the next couple of
days. Would that be okay?

Okay, I wrote that down in my todo list, and will check it out when I
get to do a little hacking. I will be checking Vincent's control center
too.

I think there's time until the release, so that's fine.

Thanks,
Ricardo
