Dear Ricardo

This looks like a bug. Could you please look into this?

Select from menu-bar Configuration -> Online Updates...

Nothing happens. The package-manager is supposed to switch to a view
identical to the module "Online update" from control centre.

Or am I missing something?

Also happens in the yast qt interface, surprising!

Hi Atri,

Yeah, that part of the code is not handled by the plugins.
We just fire a "repomgr" signal.

You should open a report. They should know where to look,
so what you wrote here should suffix: "Configuration > Online
Updates doesn't work"

CC lsl...@novell.com (seems like the maintainer of that
tool.)
CC me as well; sounds like it could be an interesting bug. ;)

Cheers,
Ricardo

It is a known bug, reported at least twice already:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617763
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=609778

(now that I look at it, the first one is actually reported by Atri :) )

Sadly, both are in NEW state and no-one seems to be bothered. I have a gut
feeling that it has something to do with online_update_configuration YCP
client moved into separate package (was in yast2-registration, which no longer
exists, now in yast2-online-update-configuration).
Perhaps if the latter is not installed (is it actually installed by default?),
sw_single client just quits silently?

fB.
