Dear Friends,
We are getting set for our National YaR Seminar on MIGRANT CHILDREN/YOUTH IN UNORGANISED SECTORS.
It is going to be at DBI Guwahati from 1st to 3rd of March 2012.
The seminar will look at the trends and features of child and youth migration across India(with or without elders) within states, inter-state and even in/out of the country, as also the impact of migration on child rights -- and will examine what organisations, including the YaR Forum should do to address the issue and the real and practical needs and rights of children affected: migrating alone, with family/group, or left behind. Children who end up in dangerous or exploitative situations are a special concern. Children who get deprived of basic development opportunity are of course a concern. The risk of moving into work or into unsupported situations without any knowledge of how to fend for themselves -- or the ability to do so without harm -- is pervasive.What are the possibilities for such children? What are the risks and uncertainties faced by migrants overall?

So pray for this effort, for us who are getting ready for it. With your blessings we move forward.
