Record Number of Abstracts Submitted to the 2015 ICFP
Nusa Dua, Indonesia | November 9–12 Global Commitments, Local Actions The 2015 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) is well on its way to achieving the highest participation rate in conference history. The conference organizers received about 2,000 individual abstracts and 200 preformed panel abstracts, an increase of more than 50% over 2013. Abstracts are currently being reviewed, and corresponding authors will be notified regarding abstract decisions by mid-June. Deadline to Apply to be a Youth Speaker/Moderator - This Friday, 6/5 Youth ages 18 to 25 are invited to apply to be speakers/moderators at the ICFP by creating short videos that speak to their passion for family planning, reproductive and sexual health and rights, and/or adolescent health. The videos will be reviewed and scored; the top scorers will serve as speakers/moderators, and will have their travel and registration costs covered if they do not already have funding to attend the conference. Recently posted information includes the following: - Partner organizations and subcommittees that would like to convene stakeholders around their area of interest can host auxiliary events. These meetings, workshops, panels, networking sessions, training courses, and presentations can be held either in the Convention Center or at nearby hotels or venues. - In support of the conference’s aim to spread ideas and share innovations, the 2015 ICFP will include a new feature called the Marketplace of Ideas. The goal of the Marketplace is to spur conversation, inspiration, and collaboration, and to showcase innovative approaches, practices, and products in the field of family planning. Innovators, thinkers, and doers can apply for 15-minute slots to present their ideas; for more details, please visit the Marketplace of Ideas webpage.
- All conference attendees must secure visas in order to enter Indonesia. There are five types of visa arrangements; please review the rules and eligibility requirements to determine which visa arrangement applies to you. Journalists covering the conference need to follow a different process; information will be posted on the Media webpage shortly.
Details about site visits, topic and CEO roundtable signups, travel awards, journalist visas, and exhibits will be posted on the conference website in the coming weeks. Conference registration will open in mid-June. |
