I heard from a very reliable source that amoeba being designed by
tanenbaum is a macro kernel . but when i started reading about it , i
came to know that it is a distributed system and a parellel system.
but i could hardly understand the word "macro kernel"...

When searched abt macro kernels google returned "Linux Macrokernel "
which has the features

"kernel + device drivers + other subsystems(dont know what exactly they
are) " into a single module .

Can somebody give a clear picture of what exactly this macro kernel is?
