Hello friends and family!

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Is 9:6).

“The angel said to them, ‘…Behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord’” (Lk 2:10-11).

Merry Christmas from the Yang family! We love that this time of the year, we’re reminded frequently of the gift God gave to us in His Son, Jesus Christ—the way, truth, and life. Christ has come, and He will come again. We look back to His birth, and we look forward to His return!

In terms of some life updates:

Amos continues to work as an independent private practice anesthesiologist and serves New Life Community Church as its Lead Pastor. Something recently new on his plate is leading the church through a property purchase.

Emily continues to homeschool the children, especially the older three. Amos continues to say that Emily is his hero. He has no idea how she manages so much each and every day.

Genevieve continues to grow in skill in swimming, gymnastics, Chinese, and piano. She continues to serve as a (mostly) good example to her younger siblings and, along with Camille, helps to care for Isabelle a good amount.

Camille is involved in all of the same activities as her older sister and seems to enjoy all sports and physical activities.

Asher LOVES numbers and is constantly asking us for math problems. He’s getting the hang of multiplication and is sometimes found even sleep-talking math problems.

Isabelle learned to talk this past year and, like most younger siblings, loves repeating whatever her older siblings say.

In terms of travel, this past year included trips to Lake Tahoe, Kentucky, Southern California, and Taiwan. The kids especially enjoyed the trip to Taiwan.

Last year in our Christmas letter we mentioned that we were expecting a not-yet-named baby boy. That son of ours was due to arrive in early May, but in early April (during the 36th week of pregnancy) and in God’s wisdom and sovereignty, Enoch Nathaniel Yang arrived stillborn on Good Friday. That itself occurred almost exactly one year after an early miscarriage of the child we call Sweet Pea. Needless to say, this past year has been filled with quite a lot of grief but also trust in God’s goodness and love. We take comfort in knowing that no matter how many days we have left here on earth, it won’t be long until “[we] go to [them]” in heaven (2 Sam 12:23) where we will all be with Christ together for eternity.
