Instance Templates Example?

Hello,

Are there more examples or documentation on instance templates?

I would like to test creating an instance via the HTTP API which mentions a template definition, but I have not been able to find much on it other than this minimal example in the yamcs repo.

Hi, that's pretty much all there is to it.

You define the arguments in meta.yaml, and the instance configuration in template.yaml in that folder structure.

Then use the call: https://docs.yamcs.org/yamcs-http-api/instances/create-instance/

Or use the Yamcs Web UI, which will show a "Create instance" button on the homepage when there is any template discovered, and render all arguments in a form.

Any create instance configuration files are saved under [yamcs-data]/instance-def/

This is not something we commonly use, so let us know if you run into bugs.
