Hey Folks!

I have a TX816 which I am going to put up for sale.

7 of the modules are working perfectly (I have replaced all 8 batteries) but unfortunately one of them is kind of stuck in a mode where it seems like the reset / start up boot thing is not being triggered.  I also can't put it into test mode (the front panel button's don't trigger any functions).  But it powers up fine and lights up ok.

It was working for a little while after I replaced the battery but eventually got stuck in this state.

I'm pretty handy with circuitry but this unit is hard to work on / test with the modular power design in the awful beast of a case!

I wondered whether I ought to just part it out with TF1s for those who want them and maybe sell the case/PSU separately or ditch it even.

What do you suggest and can anyone suggest anything?  I'm not sure how good the market is for individual modules etc.

Thanks heaps!

James

Ok never mind the 8th module issue is solved!

Same question for those interested though - would I be best to part out the TF1s or offer as a whole?

Thanks folks,

If everything is fully functional, I’d sell it as a whole unit. You could indeed sell each TF1 individually and possibly make a bit more money, but the TXx16 market is not going to be huge, I’d wager, so it might be easier to sell the whole unit.

As a matter of interest, what is your location and what might you be asking for it? I’m not necessarily interested in it myself as I already have a TX816, but I may know some interested parties. Is it the original power supply or has it been replaced?

Regards,

Rob.

Yes, Id sell it whole all day long before parting it out. I paid $1500 shipped for mine in mint shape as a used item from a small music store off their web site last year for a price point. I think that was a little high, but the condition was unlike any other Id seen in forever, so I bit, ha! Truly looks new.
