Dear Sir,

I am trying to solve some SOS problems that are derived by considering the global stability of N-S eqations, using different solvers including Sedumi, sostools, sdpnal, and mosek. When the order of polynomial type of Lyapunov function is high, say 6th or 8th order, the SOS problem will be very complicated and take a few days to run. So, do you have any comments or suggestions on the choice of solver? Many thanks.

There is no best solver. Try several and see if they perform well on your model.

...and you are confusing solvers and modelling layers. sostools is not a solver, it is a modelling layer, in the same sense as YALMIP, but limited to sos problems only.

Solvers are sedumi, mosek, sdpt3, dsdp, csdp, sdpnal, sdpa etc, all interfaced from YALMIP and thus possible to use when you use the sos modelling layer in YALMIP
