Hi Guys,

In case you didn't see this, in today's NYT there is an article on a
paper written by consultants at McKinsey & Company that says that the
US could cut 28% of greenhouse gases easily and inexpensively with
minor technological changes. The goal of the paper seems to be to
highlight the tremendous opportunity that exists in increasing
efficiency, but also seems short on suggestions for reaching this new
state. I haven't had a chance to read the full report yet, but am a
little concerned with the casual way this article mentions
improvements in building efficiency (doesn't mention the challenges
with existing building stock and the chaos in the housing market that
is not sparking new construction) as well as massive education
campaigns as sure-fire solutions! Great to get this conversation going
in a larger arena though!

Thanks, Sara! I wonder if I should link to the McKinsey paper from the
Sustainability website. I'll ask Julie about this later.

Cheers,

MJ
