Hello Astro folks! I’m thinking about hosting a sub-observing day at my place next week.

Thinking Friday afternoon (July 10th) into early evening. Anyone interested in joining?

I am!Ā  Our high school purchased a Lunt H-alpha solar scope. I could really use some advice on solar imaging. I'm new to the club and interested in meeting folks.Ā

Cool, sounds like we have some interest. I’m thinking Friday the 10th from 1pm to 5. I realize it’s during the day, but it is the sun we’re after!

Much later than 5, and the sun sinks low enough to lose sharp viewing.

By all means, bring your own (solar equipped!) telescope if you wish.

My address is:Ā
600 Baker Rd.Ā
Selah

I’m just north of Selah, easy to find. Drive up the driveway and you’ll see the parking area. We have plenty of space.

The Sun has just been amazing for the last week or so with massive sunspots and multiple active regions... hopefully this will continue into the coming weeks - but you shouldĀ check it out now if you can.

FYI - I recentlyĀ did an interview with Kevin LeGoreĀ  about solar telescopes / observation which some of you may find of interest.

I watched the youtube interview. A rough start, but you rolled through it very well. 80-100mm is well beyond my single purchase price range,Ā  but I have had satisfying viewing successĀ with my Lunt 40mm, their eyepiece set and the rack & pinion focuser replacement for the helical. Matched with the Sky-Watcher SolarQuest, it is an easy setup. Looking forward to First Light with a Lunt 2" Herschel wedge for my Askar 103APO next Friday.Ā  ~Larry

šŸ‘Ā  Add a second 40 mm etalon ("double stack") for an even more pleasing view...
