I did in fact delete more then the ad in my prior distribution/
uploading of this article. I had not had a chance to even skim it
either.
It's claim however that "....Yahoo gave their customers months to
remove data before shuttering their services." is most obnoxious and
utterly false. Less then two months notice was of course given via
emails with the first month and only month to expire in that notice
period being the shortest of the year of course.
This is something we need to have corrected as it will draw the
editors attention to our plight as well.
They did not act gracefully of course in tricking us however
unintentionally people might erroneously as well believe that
occurred.
That other sites did worse for photo's isn't surprising they are
different then documents.
There are more victim blaming commetns posoted now of cousre.
We got our first liberian scam spam over the weekend and since all
emails from members not new goto everyone i'm glad it's moderated.
I'm dissappointed that no one else emphasized the error in reporting
&by yahoo, in pcworlds forums.
This article states that our briefcases cost less then two dollars a
month (100 a T) and the reality of course is that it cost them MUCH
MUCH LESS THEN THAT!!!
So there decision to not extend when they discovered the notice error
wasn't the possible maximum of pennies even.
As other deadlines approach we need to stop yahoo from getting such
positive spin on what they did.
