You are invited to try the new release of Base HaSefer. It’s an analytical Torah search engine beginning with the Tanach and can be accessed at http://www.basehasefer.com After much time spent prototyping, I am happy to announce that the project has officially emerged to Beta test stage. This means that I am making it known outside of the small group of people with whom I have discussed it until now. Aside from some nice new features, the big news is that there is complete on-screen user documentation. This fills what had previously been a giant void. Clicking the info button in the upper right of the screen with bring you to general information about Base HaSefer. More importantly, clicking on the Help button to the right of that will pop up a context-sensitive box with instructions on how to use different aspects of the software. I recommend briefly checking out both to get a sense of what’s going on and then jumping into a few searches along with other available features. Please remember that while certain things work great, this is a system in development and there will be quirks. If you have any problems, suggestions or comments pertaining to Base HaSefer, please feel free to contact me. Also, please spread the word and share this with others who might be interested.
