Just noticed the Google Groups reference your site, so I thought I
would post my feature requests here.

First, a few problems I noticed with YABI:

1) YABI does not play nice with the new MobileMe beta calendar. It
creates the calendar locally instead of in the target calendar. (I see
Martin in a previous post already brought up this issue).

2) YABI duplicates anniversaries for separate contacts who are
married. Any way for YABI to intelligently collate married contacts
into one event instead of two?

Now, feature requests:

1) Would it be possible to incorporate a feature where birthdays and
anniversaries populate the iCal calendar starting in the actual year
of the event and go on indefinitely instead of just the current year
and one year ahead? When I scroll back or forward in time through my
calendar, I still like to see birthday and anniversary events because
it gives me a little bit more context in planning future events or is
simply informational when looking back.

2) Would it be possible to add a feature where one can configure
alarms separately for birthdays and anniversaries? In my case, I like
to be notified of birthdays 5 days ahead of time and then on the day
of the birthday; for anniversaries, I only need to be reminded on the
actual day of.

That's it. I think YABI is has a lot of potential. If at least some of
the issues above can be addressed, that would be decisive for me.

Thanks,

Eric

I'm still waiting for an account on MobileMe beta calendar, I can't help at the moment.
YABI still doesn't use remote calendar: take a look at its limitations at:

Yes! Just add "Spouse" or "Partner" field in both vCard and add related full name: YABI will search if both are linked each other and will add only one anniversary.

At the moment YABI fills current calendar and the next year: it's not possible to add "indefinite" events, only recurring events last for ever, but their title is always the same (that was the reason I started writing YABI).

I'll add this request to the list: at the moment, I'm adding a feature to prevent marked events from syncing.

Hope you'll be a YABI fan :-)

I tried that and it works. However, YABI collates the two names and
lists the anniversary title as the last name of the "partner." For
example, if my friend Mike Jones has a wife named Judy Smith, YABI
lists the anniversary title as "Mike & Judy Smith's Anniversary." I
understand that I can add the last name field in the Event Title tab,
but then I would get titles like "Paul Jones and Pam Jones's
Anniversary."

Is there any way for YABI to intelligently collate different last-name
couples to format as "Mike Jones and Judy Smith's Anniversary" while
intelligently collating same last-name couples to format as "Paul and
Pam Jone's Anniversary?" Barring that, any chance you can add a format
specifier to just list the first name of the "partner?" Currently, the
format specifier "%p" displays the full name of the partner.

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

I'm sorry but, at the moment, the answer is "no".
Anyway, as I receive a lot of feature requests, I started a new topic on Facebook page, called "Feature requests": the most voted request will be implemented first :-)

Cheers,
