I'm still waiting for an account on MobileMe beta calendar, I can't help at the moment.
YABI still doesn't use remote calendar: take a look at its limitations at:

Yes! Just add "Spouse" or "Partner" field in both vCard and add related full name: YABI will search if both are linked each other and will add only one anniversary.

At the moment YABI fills current calendar and the next year: it's not possible to add "indefinite" events, only recurring events last for ever, but their title is always the same (that was the reason I started writing YABI).
