Did you take or teach a class at YAA at any time in 2013-15?  Here is your chance to show your stuff in the upcoming Student/Instructor Exhibition.  The show runs January 17 - February 13, with drop off slated January 7,8 and 9. Attached is a file of the application form with more details.

There are some changes that will interest you:

First, we have increased the amount and number of prizes.  The cash awards have gone up in all categories, and we have added up to two Honorable Mentions to the Student awards.

Second, you may enter up two pieces in this exhibition, this doubles your chance to take a prize and show off you hard work.

Third, entry fees have changed.  For this particular show, the entry fee for each piece will be $12, for both member and non-members.

Finally, since the skills you learned in your classes carry over to your out-of-class work, your entry need not be a piece you made in a class.

We encourage your participation.  We hope that allowing two entries per artist will give us a fine, full gallery display, and will let you show off a broader range of your talents. We will be hosting a special tour with the Cultural Alliance that will bring two bus loads of arts enthusiast to see this show, bringing in a whole new audience to YAA.

While I have your attention, do you know a youngster who loves making art?  We will again be staging the York County Youth Art Exhibition in late February.  This exhibition will be open to all students, grades K-12 in the current school year, who attend and school, home school, cyber school or art class in York County. Each student may enter one piece. There is no entry fee, nor is any framing required.  (YAA will mount and present unframed entries on colorful display boards.as we did last year.)  Look for entry forms and more details to be posted at yorkartassociation.org in the coming weeks.
