Important Updates about Rio+20
Dear all,
We hope you are doing well and that you are preparing for the MGCY Youth Blast and Rio+20 Conference! As there are only 43 days to go, we hope that more of you will become engaged in the work of the Major Group for Children and Youth and contribute to making Rio+20 a success! Please find bellow newest Rio+20 updates:
3 round of Informal Informals
On Friday 4th of May, Bureau has decided that a third round of Rio+20 negotiations will be held form 29th of May until 2nd of June in UNHQ in New York. Please let us know if you are you going to be able to participate in the third round of negotiations by filling this form<
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFNramUzTjRyVUhIXzJ2RTBBbHd3SlE6MQ>. The third is the lucky one and we all hope this third round will be be a successful one. The group that attended the previous round of negotiations is currently preparing a report and recommendations for the next round so we could increase our influence and improve our work.
Rio+20 registration
Please note that the deadline for registration for the Conference is due to 20th of May and that you can be registered only through ECOSOC accredited organisation. As there has not been any information on the ad hoc accreditation of organisations, we are currently preparing a list of organisation that will support MGCY by registering delegates that have not been registered yet. If your organisation is able to support us in that regard, please fill this form<
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFQtWUlRdDkwaVJxQ3dHNHBvMmhGVlE6MQ#gid=0>. We appreciate your support!!!
The registration desk in Rio will open on 7th of June and we highly recommend registering and taking your badge as soon as you arrive in Rio. Additionally, we would kindly ask you to help us in creating the list of youth delegates attending the Rio by filling in this form<
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHpZMEI0OWYzNGtabURwVm1jWG5ybEE6MQ#gid=0>. Also, the reason we asked all those questions is that we can properly feature how diverse MGCY is and who is currently a part of it and therefore we are asking you to commit 5 minutes of your time to fill in forms accordingly. Please note that provided information is confidential and it will not be shared with the third party or used in any other purposes other than stated.
Dialogues for Sustainable Development
We would like to strongly encourage you to actively participate and engage in the Sustainable Development Dialogues. Please share your recommendations for sustainable development solutions within the ten thematic dialogues- or across. In order to register for the dialogues, please send a list of names and email addresses to
sup...@riodialogues.org<mailto:
sup...@riodialogues.org> and follow instructions provided in a separate email. In a few weeks the Global Public will be invited to prioritize amongst recommendations to be conveyed to the Heads of States in Rio. Please share this information widely within your child and youth networks and beyond. You can find instructions in several languages in attachment.
Also, if you are interested in being one of the youth facilitators for the Rio dialogues, the deadline for applications is 9th of May and you can find more information by visiting the MGCY webpage<
http://uncsdchildrenyouth.org/2012/05/08/call-for-applications-youth-facilitator-rio20-dialogues/>.
