We're getting excited to see the lake starting to melt and already dreaming of an amazing summer sailing on the lake! Wanted to share the email below for some updates on Y-Knot Sailing, an adaptive and accessible sailing program hosted at YMCA Camp Chingachgook. We're fundraising to keep the program free of charge for all sailors and we're also recruiting volunteers!

Y-Knot Sailing 2025 At Y-Knot Sailing, we are dedicated to making the joy of sailing accessible to everyone. Our Adaptive Sailing Program empowers individuals with disabilities to experience the independence, confidence, and excitement that comes with being on the water. To make this possible, we need your support. We are aiming to raise an additional $5,000 by March 31st! Your donation will help us: ✅ Equip boats with adaptive technology for safe and independent sailing ✅ Provide training and instruction from experienced, compassionate volunteers ✅Keep sailing days free of charge, so that financial limitations never prevent participation With your generosity, we can ensure that sailing is a sport for all. Thank you for believing in the power of inclusion and the transformative impact of adaptive sailing. 2025 Adaptive Sailing Regattas: Robie Pierce Regatta: May 29 - June1 Spring is in the air and the Robie Pierce Regatta website is open for business and taking sign-ups. Some key things to remember: Requests for housing must be made by May 2. We will try to accommodate all requests but cannot guarantee housing. SIgn up early to improve your chances. Limited rooms will be available at Larchmont YC. Call 914-834-2440 for a reservation. Say you are with the Robie Pierce regatta. If you need a skipper, crew or AB, sign up early and we can try to accommodate you. Limited travel funds are available, see the website for details. Some dog sitters will be available for service dogs. Sign up early! Clagett Regatta: June 17 - 22 Registration is live, sign-up today! Everyone involved with Clagett Sailing is considered to be amongst the best in their fields of expertise. Sail Newport offers a world-class Regatta Site and Race Management expertise. The judges all have their international and/or national qualifications. The coaches are headed up by Betsy Alison, herself a top sailor. The scholarship application is also open.   Y-Knot Regatta: September 6-7 We are so excited to again host our 2-day regatta event this September! We plan to host a silver and gold fleet for racers should registrations allow. There will be shared housing available at Camp and we are working on getting room blocks at hotels in Queensbury or Lake George Village as well. Registration for sailors and volunteers is now open! Upcoming Programs: Learn to Sail - (June 1, 8 & 15) An introductory, non-adaptive, program for able-bodied sailors consisting of three consecutive Sunday afternoon sessions and includes both classroom instruction and on-the-water practice. All proceeds go toward supporting Y-Knot Adaptive Sailing Days. Y-KNOT VOLUNTEER TRAINING DAY (JUNE 8) Join us June 8, 2025, for an introduction to all things Y-Knot sailing! No sailing experience is necessary! Come join us for a variety of training stations to learn how you can help out dockside or out on the water. Light refreshments will be served at 4 PM. Please bring a water bottle and bring layers - this event will happen rain or shine!
