Y-Knot Regatta and Volunteer Opportunites

Hello Sailors & Volunteers -

We have had some scheduling difficulties for Fall events but thanks to our volunteers and a change in some staff schedules, we will be hosting a 1-day regatta this Sunday, September 10th. Volunteers and sailors should sign up here (even if you already emailed Mike or Bill): https://cdymca.volunteermatters.org/admin/projects/475/dashboard 

Bill Dutcher will be leading the Race Committee and is copied here, Mike Obermayer will be the staff lead and is also copied here. We will need volunteer support for the race committee, to sail as companions, and for dock support. 

Other remaining volunteer days: Saturday, Sept. 9^th for an intro to sailing experience for youth in families in the Y program for youth with life-threatening illnesses, and an MS Sailing Day on Sept. 17th. Volunteers can sign up here for those dates.

2023 Y-Knot Sailing Y-Knot Sailing​ ​strives to make all aspects of sailing accessible to individuals with disabilities by ​​creating​​​ ​​opportunities​, providing education, and ​promoting disabled sailing within the greater sailing community. Y-Knot’s fleet of adapted sailboats includes three Sonars and six Martin 16s. Joystick autohelm and windlass controls, dock lifts, and personal safety equipment are available to accommodate a variety of special needs. As a program of YMCA Camp Chingachgook, Y-Knot depends on volunteer support for fundraising and program operations. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, have various levels of experience on and off the water, and are the lifeblood of our organization.
