Hi,

tl,dr Help no connection to Uno-CNC shield probably software incompatible (Baudrate is configured) which grbl firmware to choose? Serial port misconfigured? Other problems?

I have a heavily modified K40 Laser and got it working with my windows machine and USB cable working with Lasergrbl software. Lasergrbl flashes the version 1.1 of grbl from github and also in a modified version with homing enabled.

Now i would like to access it via Webinterface just like Octoprint and for that i have an old Raspberry Pi 1 B with edimax wifi dongle laying around.

I would like to use grblweb for that but i ran into a problem. I can not execute anything or get any response out of the cnc shield. I rebooted multiple times checked connections with Lasergrbl and other things. So i am fairly certain it has to be a software problem!

Do i have to use a specific grbl firmware? How do i flash it? (I only have mild Programming and linux knowledge).

I have it configured for wifi, i have configured it for 115200 baud rate and i can access the web tool perfectly fine. I also can see the USB serial port and i can send commands but it doesn´t execute them or responds to $ or $$. I also can´t read back from the Serial port from command line over ssh. But in Windows the serial connection works to Arduino serial monitor and Lasergrbl works just fine!

Except that i really like the project from first view! Haven´t seen anything for engraving but as long it accepts Gcode i am very Happy!

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you read you will find the protocol and versions of GCODE and the serial communications protocols that are supported.
