My slave motor sometimes will stall. It runs like a champ until it reaches about 150 lines of code and stalls. I have cut other things in the past with no problems.
What would be the most common cause?
Thanks, Chris

Hi,

Make sure the axis is not skewing due to binding or lack of lubrication

Hi Jeff,

I checked the slave drive and it's not binding and I lubed it just in case.
I can jog the axis back and forth all day and it works perfectly but put it to work running a some what a complex job and it will stall in a few min.
What would be the next step in troubleshooting this issue?

Thanks, Chris

PS. Thought something was wrong with the forum, I would log in and their was no way to reply.
Had to change address because of new email earlier and was logging in with old address.

Here is the latest … I switched the wiring on my A&Y Axis and the problem followed the problem now the Y Axis Stalls. Before switching the wiring the A Axis stalled.
Please respond... All the wiring has been checked and is ok. Could the problem be the driver?

Thanks Chris

Hi Jeff,

I'm going to put my Z axis on the driver that seems to be the problem in the morning, if it stalls then I assume that the drive is faulty.

I located some information on a forum that said; " His motors are 4 wire. A+ A-(Red-Blue), B+ B-(Green-Black) respectively. The last thing I did which worked was to take the B+(green) B-(black) and switch them around B+(black) B-(green). Now his motor moves without any stalling.

If I switch my Z axis around as mentioned above and it stalls would it be safe to try the above suggestion  of switching the B+(green) B-(black) and switch them around B+(black) B-(green)?

Thanks,

Chris
