  • Improved robustness of GMIN stepping and SPICE DC OP strategy
  • Improved performance of the BSIM-CMG model
  • Addition of the Piecewise Empirical Model (PEM) memristor model
  • The CSV print format is now supported for homotopy and noise output.
  • Improved Gnuplot compatibility for .STEP data.

Please see the Release Notes for important information about changes in this release, and a complete list of new features and enhancements.

We should note that the "Highlights" below omit one important change in how Xyce binaries are deployed, and one significant bug fix.  Both of these are mentioned in the release notes and related documentation, but are worthy of amplification:
  • Xyce binaries are no longer shipped with wrapper scripts "runxyce" and "xmpirun" --- one now runs Xyce in serial by invoking its binary directly, and in parallel by constructing an appropriate mpirun command line.  Both methods are documented in Chapter 2 of the Users' Guide.
  • A long-standing bug relating to handling of hierarchical ".lib" statements has been fixed.  This is bug 907-SON, which should have been mentioned in the highlights, but appears only on the third page of the "Fixed Defects" table of the release notes.
