Can not install new freeware version 2.08.6

I've disinstalled an old freeware version of XXCLONE (downloaded from the official site) because it doesn't run anylonger, saying "This XXCLONE Freeware package was created more than one year ago. If you doanloaded it from a third party doanload site ...".
Now I'm trying to install the last version (2.08.6) downloaded from the official site but the installation fails with the installer immediately writing the same error message: "This XXCLONE Freeware package was created more than one year ago. If you doanloaded it from a third party download site ...".
What's going wrong?

Same error, not only with the Freeware version, but also the TestDrive version.    Sent them an email a week ago advising of this error, but no response, and the on-line version has not been updated.    Are the Pixelab folks still in operation?
