If you are just looking at copying data, rather than trying to transfer an operating system, then Xxclone would not be the tool you should be using. A more appropriate alternative would be Xxcopy, but the viability of that approach may be in question following the death earlier this year of the creator of both Xxclone and Xxcopy, and there apparently are no arrangements for ongoing support.
You might search out alternatives for Xxcopy.
FWIW, Xxclone would fully replace the contents of the hard drive "partition" to which data is copied, and the effect would not be limited to a targeted folder on the partition. The effect of Xxcopy could be constrained to a specific folder.
Good luck,
Dan

Basic question. I have an old hard drive id like to copy the entire contents over to a portable external hd.
I have selected the old dh as the source, and I have selected my portable hd as the target (i have pointed the target to a folder on my external hd). If I proceed, will all the data on the external hd be deleted? Or will just the contents in the folder I pointed the target to be deleted?
I dont want any other folders in the root of my external hd to be deleted.
