XXClone worked *so* well in XP.

Now I am trying it on my new W7 Pro x64 system, cloning my WD 2T drive to the other WD 2T drive, and I get the volume error when making the target bootable.

Am I dead, or can I re-configure something on my system that will allow the software to resolve this issue?

Thanx in advance!

So you were actually able to boot from your clones?

That's a good question.

I notice that on the Product page of xxclone.com, it says "Released
2016-06-27", so that seems to mean that Kan has been busy. That's
good to see. I don't have time yet to install it. Are you
using this lastest version?

I've been using Vista but I want to maek a copy and install win7 over
it. This evening, I hope.

Yes, the XP cloned disk booted and ran perfectly well - never had any issues. I also determined it's best to do the clone in windows Safe Mode, to get some files that otherwise would be locked.

I've downloaded and are using V2.08.3 (his latest).

It's only on a new W7 PC that I cannot perform any of the "Boot Up" tab settings. Let me know your results on W7, and, what size drives you're cloning.

Great. That's good to know. The locked ones are probably
some of the important ones. Valuable since they lock them
up. Like my bicycle.

My efforts to move up to W7 from Vista failed some time on Thursday,
and now that the W10 deadline is no longer an incentive, I'm not
going to try as hard as I did, but Sunday or Monday will be a good
day to start again.

That's going to be several days or weeks away. A lot to do first.

Sorry for hijacking a thread, but I've tried to send this twice
already and seen no trace of it.

Is there a moderator on this list? Even if there is, I can't see
anything wrong with the following, and I didn't get a rejection
message either time.

I'm asking about the paid Home and Pro versions. I dl'd them 3 days
ago already and have had not a moment to install OR use them. I
think I can only afford Home and I'm not a corporation and the web
page calls Pro something for corporate use, but I don't understand
some of the Pro options and I certainly dont' know in what way they
are implemented, which is as important as anything else. So i think
I need to try both. The second version follows:

Sorry if this is a duplicate:

When does the Trial period start?

I assumed the 30 days started A) when I installed, or
B) when I first
ran XXClone

But today it occurred to me that Pixielab knows when I in particular
dl'd the install file.

Is there any chance the 30 days start
C) when I dl'd
the install file?

Well, I had actually only gotten an email with an address, and I dl'd
the Home edition an hour ago to use it, and when I installed it it
says it expired 9/4/16, so it looks like that installation started
the clock. I don't know if that is early in the morning or late at
night, but it's 30 days after today. And now I'm running it and I
looked in About, and it says it expires on 9/2/16. Those should
match. I presume the 30-day value, the 4th, is the correct one.
