I downloaded the link you sent me that day, I put the password and login, and have launched the "xxclone_pro_test_drive_installer_v2072.exe" file and I have the following message:

"This shelf life of this has expired.
If you install the never-have testt drive on this computer Packge you shoulds visit XXClone's website and sign up for a test drive. "

I just installed on my computer XXClone free.

What should I do?
Thank you.

Hi Maxine,
Not sure who you are addressing in your email (there doesn't seem to be a prior posting from you on this yahoogroup), but with regards to the problem you are having, others appear to be having it too with the various versions of Xxclone.

However, the only feedback we have received thus far is that the creator/tech for Xxclone, Kan Yabumuto <te...@xxcopy.com>, was recently released from hospital in Japan and there is no indication as yet that he or anyone else is addressing this problem as yet.

Hi,

There seems to be a recurring problem with the trial version of Pro XXClone because other users have the same problem.
I hope the author of XXClone that came out of the hospital will see this problem to meet future clients.

Regards,
Maxime

Hi,
I have found in my archives XXClone V 0.58.0 which was free at the time and has always functioned well, (I did not remember on which HD I had saved) it to the function to copy the volume ID on the target, which does not exist on the current version free. I will use it to clone my HD.
Regards,
Maxime

Hi I have the same problem with teh shelf life... I wanted to try xxclone and was seriously thinking of buying the pro version for the next three years, since I need a relieble tool. But when I see that all depends on one person and there is no backup I feel a bit uncertain if I can trust this tool longterm. I dont like to change tools every year.. I rather stay with one good one.
Btw.. will xxclone work with Windows 10??

Hi Konrad,

So far I haven't seen any communications in or from www.xxclone.com identifying whether Xxclone will work with Win10.

Dan

Hi Dan,

thanks for the information. Hope they fix the shelf live problem soon. It seems to be a good piece of software.

Yeah, that bothers me too.   I haven't even tried to dl the trial version of xxclone home since a month ago when I got that error.

Not sure what I"m going to do.

I've only restarted once in the last month, and it didn'ttclick on restart like it did the last time.  So I'm not panicking like I was, and I have 2 good copies now, except I couldn't boot from them which is maybe not xxclone's fault.

OTOH, one usb bare drive in a dock that's onlly a month old did click very quietly on startup.  What does that mean?    I think I've heard it before, not on startup.

I know a lot of companies are pretty much one-man shows.  I have a friend whose anwering machine says press 1 for sales, 2 for service, 3 for technical, 4 for billing, 5 for an apppointment, and they're all pretty much him or sometimes his wife.   But otoh, one of those choices will forward a message or the caller to his cell phone, which he has on alll the time, and even at family dinners and when we went to a car show out of town together, he's answering his phone from customers (He has a home alarm business.)   So he's available about 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the monitoring company does the other 8 hours.   Of course this is his entire liveliehood (not counting what his wife makes at her regular job) and he actually has a secretary now, a salesman, a repairman, and he'd have more if he could find good workers.   But for years it was a one-man show.
