FYI for the xxclone group.  Sad news.  Kan's personal work on xxcopy and xxclone has helped many people who have never had the opportunity of knowing much about him.

It is with sadness that I report that Kan died in Tokyo on Friday evening 31st March 2017.

He had an incurable degenerative lung disease that had been getting worse over the past few years. In the last year he had increasingly frequent visits to hospital but nevertheless, his death was sudden and unexpected.
