I would think they would. But, maybe they want the execution to draw
out. In a video on YouTube, where a young man is garrotted, it seems
to be a race between him being strangled and having his neck snapped
by the ram, and his death seems to occur in about the same amount of
time. If it were my choice, I would want my neck snapped as quickly
as possible. As I said in a previous post, I have been hanged by my
neck numerous times in my life. And, as I said, my neck has been
broken twice by hanging. It seemed to take quite a long time before I
lost consciousness, like maybe even as long as a minute, even with my
neck breaking. But with me, only my spinal column broke. The chord
survived! If my neck were to be snapped (like with the garrott ram),
that would not only break the column, but also the chord. If my heart
rate isn't too racy, death should occur within seconds!
