Hello.

I am newbie in xtreemfs. I have setup server, but I am not able to mount on Windows client.

This is how I created volume:
mkfs.xtreemfs  centos.localdomain.local/xtfsVolume
Trying to create the volume: centos.localdomain.local/xtfsVolume

Using options:
  Owner:                        root
  Owning group:                 root
  Mode:                         777
  Access Control Policy:        POSIX
  Quota:                        0

  Default striping policy:              RAID0
Default stripe size (object size):    128
Default stripe width (# OSDs):        1

Successfully created volume "xtfsVolume" at MRC: centos.localdomain.local/xtfsVolume

Then tried to mount on Windows 7 Client:
c:\Program Files (x86)\XtreemFS Windows Client>mount.xtreemfs centos.localdomain.local:32636/xtfsVolume X:
[ E | 11/16 20:57:52.789 | db0            ] Failed to retrieve the current username and domain name, error code: 2138

This is what I see in mrc.log:
/var/log/xtreemfs/mrc.log
[ E | RPCNIOSocketServer   | PBRPCSrv@32636  |  11 | Nov 16 20:57:13 ] invalid PBRPC header received: com.google.protobuf.InvalidProtocolBufferException: Message missing required fields: request_header.user_creds.username

lsfs works fine:
c:\Program Files (x86)\XtreemFS Windows Client>lsfs.xtreemfs centos.localdomain.local
Listing all volumes of the MRC: centos.localdomain.local
Volumes on centos.localdomain.local:32636 (Format: volume name -> volume UUID):
        xtfsVolume      ->      72cbdcef-ed5a-46bb-abeb-3c163c04660f
End of List.

When I try to delete volume on Win client I get this:
Answer with "YES" to proceed: YES
[ E | 11/16 20:21:18.298 | d70            ] Failed to retrieve the current username and domain name, error code: 2138
Error: No name found for the current user (using the configured UserMapping: 0)

Not sure what this UserMapping is.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

we have not encountered this error before, but it seems to be related to the Workstation service: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/netmgmt/network-management-error-codes
Now I'm not too familiar with Windows, but have you tried a different OS version? Can you check that this Workstation service is running?

Cheers
Robert

Thanks Robert.
That worked. Workstation service was stopped.

Best regards,
Vlad
