Hello all!

I am attempting to customize some of the facets in the left hand td (td.facet to be specific) of the results page. Currently the date facet seems to be pointing to the publish date of our documents (which is 2012, for all of them, not totally helpful) but what I'd like to do is allow users the ability to browse by the dates that our documents were actually written (this is handled with an origDate tag in each TEI document). I'm not sure what xsl to edit to get this to work? I've edited the "get-tei-date" template in teiPreFilter.xsl so that it points to origDate but this seems to do nothing (that I can see anyways). I imagine there has to be some way to tell XTF to look at origDate instead of the publish date but I'm not certain how or where to do this. I'm sure the solution is super simple but I seem to be stumped right now.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Hi,

I think teiPreFilter.xsl should be the only place you need to change, if you just want to redefine the 'date' field, and not make a new field (e.g, 'origdate') in addition to the old one. (I did the latter, and had to change lots of places.)

But your modified 'date' will not work until you've done a 'clean' reindexing.
