Today's metadata is not yesterday's cataloging. Libraries all over the world are doing amazing things with all kinds of metadata from many sources.

Join us on November 9, for the final Amigos Library Services online conference of 2017, Innovating with Metadata, where we will explore how libraries of all types are working with and innovating metadata. Over the course of this one-day online event, we will hear from a variety of perspectives, experiences, and lessons learned from academic libraries, special libraries, and more. Each session will run 45 minutes.

Amanda Sprochi, Health Sciences Cataloger at The University of Missouri's J. Otto Lottes Health Sciences Library, will kick off the conference with her talk, "FRBR-LRM and RDA: How it will Change Cataloging." The International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) has developed a new Library Reference Model (LRM) that will have major consequences for the structure, design, and implementation of RDA (Resource Description and Access). Sprochi's presentation will cover the basics of the model and how its implementation in RDA will affect cataloging on a practical level.

Register by October 27 to save money! And don’t forget, one of the many benefits of Amigos membership is FREE attendance at all online conferences. Head to https://www.amigos.org/innovating_metadata for all the details.
