Solid Angle, and the Arnold renderer, were acquired by Autodesk in 2016. As part of our ongoing integration process, Arnold transitions to the Autodesk Licensing Framework on July 25, 2017. This change applies to new licenses of Arnold. The Autodesk Licensing Framework is the same licensing technology we use for many of our other software products including Autodesk® Maya® and Autodesk® 3ds Max®

My biggest fear is Autodesk acquiring Redshift.

That would be a stab in the heart. Redshift has been a savior for us.

I see it down the path... AD product only in the cloud with monthly subscription. IE really in the cloud.. runing in web browser only.
BUT wait that is great for you, you just don;t know that. You have power of cloud unlimited computing of AD farm and stuff.. for merely 10, 100, 1000 per month and increasing ;)

Well - Arnold and RLM licensing has been a calming factor in my tedious licensing chores along the way. Autodesk licensing crap has cost me weeks if not months of lost worktime - I hate that shit.
