I´d like to share with you all my free camera dolly/crane/steady ICE compound rig:

1. I can´t edit the ppg groups layout (.xml) when exporting a private compound.. What am I missing ??
Feel free to drop me a line of suggestions/comments/ideas or anything guys, always appreciated.

You're welcome, and... you have to save out the compound as
non-private, edit it to add the port groups, import the edited one,
then save it out as private and you should be fine.
