not necessarily only the suite, you can currently get Maya 2016 with softimage option. Standalone license with no maintenance. have to be quick, this 'offer' wont be available for long as everything soon will be cloud subscription and softimage aint ever going to be on there

£2,262 per unit from XTFX
Hi Chris xtfx is the reseller here in London that I use
It's hard to get information from AD in this regards and even resellers doesn't seem to know exactly whats possible in some cases.
The following reflects my knowledge. You should verify it with your reseller to make sure. Ask twice because sometimes, they may have outdated information or want to sell something different from what you want :) I got wrong infos in the first place from mine as well.
Upgrading existing licenses:
You can upgrade standalone and network licenses of Softimage to version 2015 from six version back (from version 2010 an up).
You can upgrade these licenses until Feb 2016. I did it end of last year and it was around 2,500 EUR. Until mid 2014 it was a few hundred bucks less.
You cannot upgrade Softimage alone anymore, you have to choose the bundle. No matter if you have network license or standalone.
Subscription isn't needed to upgrade an existing license.
Buying new licenses:
You *can* still buy additional licenses as an existing Softimage costumer until Feb 2016. But it’s the same deal as with upgrading, you will need to buy the bundle. AFAIK it's around 5,000EUR now.
Subscription isn't needed to buy additional licenses.
License management / flexlm:
flexlm had a few changes since 2010 but I used the old flexlm from xsi2011 (v11.7.0.0) with the new license file without problems. However if you're running an even older version then you may need to update the flexlm. I had this at a company when XSI2015 refused to start because they were running a very old flexlm version. AD changed licensing check via flexlm internally somehow.
You can combine your old license (xsi2011) and the new xsi2015 within one file. So yes you can run both versions simultaniously and have all batch render lics available as well as the mental ray lics. (5 per softimage seat plus the GUI version, resulting in 6 batchrender licences if your not using the GUI. In your case it would be two softimage versions at the same time and 10 batch render lics. However, you cannot use the batchrender lics from 2011 for 2015 scenes of course. Nor vice versa.
If the machine name and its'MAC ID didn't change for both versions just copy/paste the new license text into the old file and restart flexlm. I'm not sure about mixed server IDs in one file but instead you can just create a second service for the new license and run both.
Hope this helps.
cheers,
Sven
I completely forgot about the Feb 2015 deadline. So I was wrong about upgrading, sorry.
However buying new network licenses is still possible but for the ridiculous price of 5k bucks here in germany.
To the ppl with network licenses: You should try it, even the statement from ADs website is pretty clear. I think the main (if not the only) reason for the Feb 2015 deadline was because of subscription and the one year maintenance plus the ability to upgrade to future versions (2016). If your gonna upgrade without subscription there might be a little chance to get it, if it's a network license.
Did anyone talk to his reseller about upgrading a network license at this time?
"At the time I was quoted $2200 to bring my 2011 license up to 2015. However, I would have received a Maya/Max & Softimage standalone license in place of my network license, losing all my batch licenses."
That was wrong information by your reseller. You could have upgraded your existing floating license to XSI2015 until the Feb 1st 2015 deadline. Remaining all batch licenses because it was an upgrade of your existing network license. The price sounds similar to what I was told at the time (in EUR). I upgraded my network license from 2011 to 2015 in Nov 2014.

It would be through your local reseller. I am not sure who that is but there is 3DV in Portland. http://autodesk.force.com/plocator/PLocatorMapView?id=a5z300000004DQdAAM&cnt=United%20States&lang=en Since there is almost no demand for Softimage any more it is possible that they might not be familiar with the product and its availability so just take along the reference numbers I posted earlier and they should be able to help you order it. Alternatively you can purchase from B&H - the links I forwarded earlier. maurice From: softimag...@listproc.autodesk.com [mailto:softimag...@listproc.autodesk.com] On Behalf Of Derek Jenson Sent: Tuesday, November 24, 2015 12:45 PM To: soft...@listproc.autodesk.com Subject: RE: can I still get softimage? Subject: RE: can I still get softimage? Date: Tue, 24 Nov 2015 17:42:20 +0000 Hi Derek, Most of what you said is accurate. Just to be clear: All upgrades were discontinued at the start of this year. Your only option today is to purchase a new license of either Maya with Softimage or 3ds Max with Softimage. You must do this before February 1st 2016 which is the start of Autodesk's next fiscal year. At that point Softimage will be fully retired from sales. Anyone can purchase the software, there is no requirement to already have a license. maurice

Another question- is FBX 2015 export/import absent from Softimage 2015? After some digging, it appears so. I do mostly interactive work, just trying to figure out what is included and what is not in 2015. Does SI 2015 ship with FBX 2014?
