Well done guys! And it's always nice to see SI screens in making-of videos like this :D

Did a scrub thru but didn't catch the Softimage screen. And which other parts of the movie use Softimage?

Regards,
Chris

I would think more or less none.
The commercial is done by a separate company that either started from scratch or got a dataset from the film production.

Very nice work. But you can't expect anything less from the embassy.

PS. Caught a glimpse of houdini in there as well :)
Afaik, their animation/lighting/rendering pipe is xsi/arnold with houdini for fx.

It looks like a Pre-viz though ;)

Probably not, looks like he's animating a rigged animation-model on the backplate.
It's probably a proxy-geo for faster feedback for the animator.  ;-)

Fun stuff.

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

We used Softimage and Arnold for the suit, Houdini for any FX work, mostly smoke, debris thrusters.  We love this combo, I highly recommend it.  The pipeline in the past between the two was a little jinky but we're rolling our own alembic solution and soon hope to have Arnold going between the two along with some open vdb for volume data.
