Softimage 2015 to MODO 8 using Alembic

We are trying to export models with textures and materials from
Softimage 2015 to MODO using Alembic but
the materials and textures are coming over, are we missing something?

Alembic doesn't support materials and textures... only UVs.

I have only ever gotten, models , with UVs out of alembic.

You normally have to reassign materials in your new application
