Bracecomplete behaviour

xpt with bracecomplete on automatically closes brackets, however
it adds a space before and after the cursor like so ( | ). Is it
possible
to not have spaces before and after the cursor?
I see this behaviour doesn't happen with quote complete however I
had no success emulating this for the brackets.
