"Format" converts xml-entities, invalidating the xml

I have just experienced a bug when formatting an xml:

With Node values containing URLs, with properly escaped parameters (&). When formatting the xml, these are unescaped, thus invalidating the xml.

You can reporduce this bug with the following xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<root><a>http://example.com/?test=ok&amp;test2=not_ok</a></root>
