Problem with arduino with Atmega 8 ................!!?

i have Arduino Single-Sided Serial Board With Atmega8 i upload the
firmware successfully ..... but when i open the software and chose
arduino board it tell me that it couldn't find the board ...... so
what is the problem ?
and the serial led doesn't blinking ...... as happening in any other
serial communication >>>>>>>>>>>
