Hello

I want to make a maintenance for xnoise release soon (so that I can
include a saucy build to the ppa) and I updated translatable strings.
If you like to have an update for your language please send me an
updated po file.

Best Regards

When is this release planned? I can only update it tuesday.

If you can´t wait that´s fine.

Regards

This is an Hebrew patch + the modified Hebrew PO file.

Please test if heb_patch.diff merge properly(for future translations).

If not, please tell me it failed, and use he.po instead.

Yours
Tal

I don´t think they should be marked for translation.

I´m wrong. They should be localized. https://wiki.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/DesktopFileKeywords

Wait I'm confused.
The update I sent here contain something like this:
_Keywords={Xnoise original keywords(english)};{Hebrew keywords}

Now I'm not sure that I did it right.
The reason I did it that most of the Hebrew speakers knows English, and sometimes search in
English because they're doubt which word the translator(me) was using, or it wasn't translated by him for all.

But I don't know if this is OK by the principle.
In my opinion, the end user(GNOME, Xfce, Unity, whatever...) should search keywords from ALL languages and not only the current one which is being used.

Does it work like my opinion? If not, how it's working and why it isn't.
I just couldn't understand the link you gave here about Desktop _Keyword standards.

Wait for your reply

Hello Tal
According to this:
http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s05.html
the Keywords shall be localized (Keywords is localestring). That means
the Keywords have to have a "_" prefix -> "_Keywords" and the keywords
are in English language in the *.desktop.in.in file.
The translation will then automatically be included in the *.po files
and there be translated (only there). The generated *.desktop file
includes English and the translations.
Most application starters that make use of desktop files also read the
original English keywords.
Please have a look at xnoise's desktop file and the xnoise.desktop.in.in
file.
Hope that answers your questions.
Best Regards
